Proverbs 24:3-4 says, “By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”
When you step through the doors of The Nest at Ruth Farms I believe you step into God’s presence in a special way – his arms outstretched and ready to embrace you, if you hadn’t felt his love already. The Spirit lives and moves in that place in a way I’ve never felt in any other wedding venue. There is true joy and peace in this place, but beyond that there is a weight of sacredness. A wedding is not just a day – it is the start of a lifetime covenant. I believe there’s a special anointing on this place and because of that – a sweet blessing to every couple who commit themselves to each other – under the sparkling chandeliers and beneath God’s endless stream of love. As light flows through the grand windows and bounces off of the white walls, so does God’s light function in the spiritual realm. You feel it. You feel the light on your skin and his love on your soul.
I love this place and I love the woman who’s been entrusted to its care. I truly believe that God specifically aligned Whitney and I’s paths for a specific reason. I’m sure he will reveal that reason one day in the future, though in the meantime I have been incredibly blessed by her friendship and genuine authenticity. In getting to know her heart, I’ve also learned the heart of the Nest. This woman loves Jesus with everything she has and it’s so inspiring. Her vulnerableness and desire to connect beyond the surface conveys just how committed she is to following the Lord with a humble heart. I’m still amazed by how she’s opened her heart, home and life to me – completely outside of a professional setting which ironically happens to be in her cozy little corner office sometimes. I forget she’s also someone I work alongside. Though as I grow to know her more – to see the way she serves and loves the couples that come through those doors and sign their names on them on the way out – I fall more in love with the Nest.
It’s fresh and inspiring while at the same time so peaceful and homey. The set up is a seamless and stunning place to hold a wedding (or event – they host other affairs as well!). My favorite spot is on the balcony overlooking the whole place with the chandeliers directly ahead. It’s the place I first met my sweet friend, and a place I’m sure I will continue to feel God’s peace and love overwhelm me as I document the sweet moments that unfold below.
I pray you visit the Nest and find refuge there as I have. I pray God touches your heart in a special way and that you fall in love all over again with your fiancĂ© and with Jesus as that glorious light pours over you. My desire is to serve each of my clients like royalty – with so much love and intentionality. The only reason I even considered writing this post is that I know Whitney will do the same for you.
I love you, Whitney & the Nest!
